Our story
Founded in 1982 by Gary Forkum, Fork's has been an integral part in the Nashville drum community and has become a destination drum shop visited by thousands from across the Globe.
1982 - 1991
Fork's started as a literal closet full of drums nested in the back of then Corner Music, located at Bransford Ave & East Iris Drive in Berry Hill. At that time, the store had one employee, Mr. Gary Forkum and boasted a few cymbals, and a handle of kits and snare drums.
1991 - 2018
Corner Music moved the their new location on 12th Ave S. and Gary Forkum bought the building next door where Fork's remained for the next () years, growing into a store that became a safe haven for players from all walks of life
2018 - 2025
After Gary's retirement from the industry in 2018, Fork's was purchased by Steve Maxwell and we moved to our new location at 308 Chestnut St. where we have found our new home just south of downtown.
